HDD space low performance?

Hello Linustech & everyone

Does low disk space can slow my PC performance? later on my E or F drive gonna drop on 10/15GB left coz im going to install AC syndicate

Well it does, but ever so slightly. The main impact is having filled up your SSD with things other then your OS. I would try to clean your OS drive if you are really worried, by deleting everything then your OS. Other wise just clean them up With CCleaner & format them.

So my HDD should be fine even though its getting full/low?

Just leave like 10GB free, to be honest I would get rid of them and upgrade to a single 4TB drive. It's way cheaper maybe like $100 most. Anyway you shouldn't worry to much, just leave some bouncing room

Hey there Arcana,

HDDs do require some free space in order to perform smoothly. Two of the reasons are the paging (a small amount should be enough) that is done in case you hit 100% memory usage or there's something wrong with the memory, and deframgentation (automatic or not) that is done to keep the data from larger files together, otherwise the performance of the drive degrades significantly. I'd try to keep around 8%-10% of free space on a regular HDD.
