SSD vs HDD performance

Basically my family are friendly with a few nuns and one of them got a new computer and gave my uncle a SSD any hes letting me have it I'm going to pick it up tomorrow

I heard very bad stuff about this ssd and that after a while the quietly replaced the original with a handicapped version so do I have the original one or the revised lower performance one and how will it compare to the hdd I use now in boot up time and general desktop tasks

Those perform badly for SSDs, it will still run circles around a HDD

either way it will perform better then a hdd especially for free you cant go wrong

Even a "bad" SSD will perform much better than pretty much any HDD out there.

ssd's boot much faster than hdds. they use solid memory which has no moving parts compared to the spinning platters that hdd's use.... basically like disk

 

ssd's do however have a limited lifespan of read and writes which usually is never reached under normal consumer use for a while.

 

hdd's do have more read and writes but their life is short lived sometimes due to the moving parts and cant handle an impact like ssd's can.

This performs above 7200 rpms.  There's good and bad models of the V300s.  IIRC they swapped out the memory controller, so if that's an original it will perform as advertised.  However, it could be one with the slower memory controller or whatever.

if you see my op I'm aware of that but is there any way to tell if ive got the gimped version
