So today I come to turn on my PC and it post and bios shows up but then it is just a black screen.... Is my windows Install dead?

Boot into your BIOS and make sure your Boot Drive is still being recognized by the BIOS. 

 

If it is, Try booting without your GTX 970 installed.

 

That should tell you what's dead.

I'm not an audiophile, I'm just really picky about my music... and my headphones... and my speakers... and my microphone. Other than that, I'm totally not an audiophile.

Buy a HDD dock on amazon, recover your data, and do a clean install of windows. If you want to recover your current windows, i need more details.

Here is the problem. I got Windows 10 for free Bc of the insiders program so do I have to buy Windows 10 now?

Nah, you can reinstall it, it'll activate automatically.

So how dose one reinstall

If you have any working PC - download the media creation tool from Microsoft, and then select "Create installation media for other PC" - it will download Win10 ISO from MS servers and then burn it on USB stick. Then reboot your main rig from USB and it'll be pretty straightforward from there. :)

Oh ok so will I keep everything on my PC or do I have to back it up?

Well i unplugged a usb hard drive and now it works fine  :mellow: k then but thanks for the help
