No, for some reason i got a ban in dod:s and it banned me on all half life games too. now that's like puking on a pile of shit,

 

It will ban you from playing games on whatever engine you were first banned on, in this case it's a Source ban.

 

 

How could he play ranked then?

 

He was probably banned on gldsrc instead.

You were using a third party program and got banned. Serves you right.
