A "cold" drive only describes the temperature. Not the state of the drive's function.

crystaldiskinfo SMART report said that the drive is working fine and that is making things weirder

Who manufactured your drive?

it's a Seagate 500GB SATA2 3Gbps 5900rpm

Try running their tool that checks the state of the drive: http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/

I do wonder if HD Tune is giving false information?

i hope so. i'm thinking of opening the hard drive for cleaning or something do you agree ?

No. The drive is not designed to be opened. It can be, but the screws MUST be put back EXACTLY the way they were or the drive will not function. I do not agree with HD Tune's information.
