Need Help Benq XL211Z

hi i recently bought the benq monitor, all is fine apart from one problem. when i start my pc it instantly locks into 60hz; it gives no option for anything else in windows settings and nvidia control panel. However when i restart my pc i can change the Hz all the way up to 144hz.

 

I am on window 7 64bit, i am using this graphics card - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970wf3oc4gd and am using the duel link dvi cable provided with the monitor.

 

any help is much welcomed.

You need to do a driver wipe.

Download it, run it in windows SAFE MODE, reboot, reinstall video card drivers.

And make sure you aren't using any strange utilities that lock your refresh rate.
