I have recently updated windows 10 from windows 7 64 bit. When i updated i am not able to get internet. I have tried updating my maximus hero viii drivers but it doesnt seem to register the updates. Any ideas of what i could do?

I checked the device manager its saying theres no internet signal but the modem isnt the issue at all. I just build this pc and had the same issue when i downloaded windows 7 with the internet until i downloaded and updated all the drivers for the mother board. Now when i try to download all the drivers for the motherboard a couple of them wont update, but the maximus hero viii specifically says its capable and ready for windows 10 so i dont really know why the issue is.

You have flags in our device manager for parts of your system? If so what are they?

I prefer not upgrading to windows 10 but rather clean installing it. Check my signature for a link to how to do this.

You said you installed the chipset driver for the MOBO correct?

Ya the only driver that wont update for some reason is the LAN driver for the mobo. The reason i updated in the first place is that i had the d3dx9_43.dll was missing and when i went to microsoft to download the directx it wouldnt let me do anything but update to windows 10 so i figured that might have the updated directx on there.

I think i would place a call into the MOBO manufacturer. They may have a better idea or even have the drivers necessary.

I found on their website the LAN driver. After i download it on a usb drive how do i install it? Just plug in and it should install?

if its a driver then you should be able to just click on it and install it to the PC. If its the BIOS, which you should update, they have a tool to help you do that

please quote me on replies so i know you responded.

I assume you have restarted your computer since the issue started. If not, do so.

Also try restarting your router.
