Does overclocking without changing voltage damage the GPU?

Does it? I've been doing some OC on my GPU and I'm worried it might damage the GPU. I didn't touch the voltage neither am I planning to so I'm curious if OC without touching the voltage can be dangerous? PC crashed once when I was doing some overclocking and I immedeatly turned down the core clock until it was stable and other than that I've had one time on me artifacts on screen after playing for about an hour, which made me turn down the memory clock aswell

 

Max temp I've reached was 75Cº on a g1 980ti which under load doesn't seem to be to bad

It wont. it's the other way around really. Upping the voltages can REALLY damage your GPU. Up the core clock and the memory clock a bit and you'll be fine

no, you'll be fine. it's the other way around, when you increase the voltage, thats when your card can be damaged.

Did you open up GPU-z with the core clock sensor maxed? Cause sometimes Heavne and valley are wrong on core clocks. They usually said I was rocking 1600-1700mhz, which of course wasn't. It was 1510ish MHz

GPU-Z was hitting 1615MHz at peak.

Voltage is what is most likely to harm a chip. But honestly I don't think I've even heard of that happening if done within the bounds of what MSI Afterburner allows.

 

It's normal and expected that you're going to crash eventually while testing for your highest stable overclock. That's just part of the process, and itself not cause for concern beyond just knowing that either your frequency is too high or voltage too low.

I don't believe that. You would have the fastest Ti in the world. You're reading something wrong.
