Windows is making me frustrated

I recently updated windows 10 on my laptop. My desktop is gone.... like it just forever stuck in the full page start screen and I can only use windows in the metro view. Help please, Ive looked up and down the settings and control panel.

Its a laptop with a touch screen, so maybe. But I should still be able to get out of this somehow

That's probably what it is. Look around and see how to trick Windows 10 into getting back to the desktop from tablet mode.
