Hi guys I am back with a question. I have a broken Tv I think the power supply Is shot on it. Me being the cheap B**** (<--- use your imagination there) i am want to know if there is a way I can wire my tv to use a old 500w power supply I have. I have seen this guy do it but dont know what rails he connected to and the possible threat of a fire hazard this proposes.

Thanks so much guys :D

how are the caps? 99% of the time, the craps dry out due to heat.

-SNIP-

As said most times it's bad capacitors that cause issues on TV's, if you do some probing with a multimeter to check to see if the power rails have power that would be a good place to start, one thing to note there is live AC power if you do this so I wouldn't suggest this if your not experienced in what your doing.

nope that caps appear to be fine all components are working none blown. sometimes it will turn on sometimes it dosent but all of the time the psu for the tv has a bad stench to it -so thats why im not going to take my chances. (btw its a poloroid dvd combo )

CAN you do it, probably, SHOULD you do it, no. high risk of fire, and getting terminaly dead

How do Reavers clean their spears?

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
