Hey Everyone, I'm new to the site. I'm looking to build a new computer and have never done it before. I have usually bout in box.

1. Budget & Location

I'm looking to spend at least around $600 in US currency.

2. Aim
I'm an aspiring environment artist so I do a lot of 3D work. I need something that can not only run multiple programs at the same time for use of texturing and rendering. Programs that I use along with system requirements if it helps:

Maya Lt: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya-lt/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Maya-LT.html

Unreal Engine 4: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/GettingStarted/RecommendedSpecifications/

Photoshop CC: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html

Mudbox: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/mudbox/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Autodesk-Mudbox-2016.html

3. Monitors
I'm also looking to run 2 monitors.

4. Peripherals
I already have all the peripherals I needas far as keyboard and mouse but could use some advice as too an appropriate cheap set of monitors that would be perfect for any new graphics cards.

5. Why are you upgrading?
The computer I have can't run Maya lt namely because of the graphics card that I do have. But from what I have read to upgrade graphics cards I would also have to upgrade several other aspects.

I have attempted to make a build around some of the things I think I can keep on my pc.

Things I am looking to keep from my current PC:

Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz

1 terrabyte hard drive with Windows 7 ultimate

Items that I think might be compatible:

XFX Radeon R9 380 R9-380P-4255 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Double Dissipation XXX OC Video Card

CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

MSI Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Rosewill R5 - Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Case

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I'm more so trying to question the compatibility, I'm not sure if they work together. Don't want to spend so much money and end up bricking everyting. But please I'm looking for the best performance I can get for my budget. A preemptive thanks to everyone!

That Z97 motherboard wont be compatible with that CPU, you'd need a motherboard with the 1155 socket (I think) to have the CPU work. Also, do not get a CX PSU, it has very bad quality components and has a bad ambient temperature operating range.

Since the cpu cant overclock you dont need a z97 mobo, the cx series psus are not for anything else than your parents to play farmville.

Also use pcpartpicker

Keep your power supply, all you need is a new power supply, and a new graphics card, which can overall cost you about 280 - 300 for good ones

Also, boards on the Z97 chipset use socket LGA-1150, but that CPU uses LGA-1155.

-snip-

The CPU you have is more than enough, its almost as good as i7s today. Your motherboard should be OK too, that doesnt really effect performance. this is all you really need

Thank you everyone for all the great suggstions! Yeah I think I'll do the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157304. It looks like it would work out great.

Also, I am wondering has anyone been using the Ultra Wide screen montiors. Trying to save some money here, so I'm wondering as a person who has been using two monitors is there a major difference? Would I be better off having two monitors or would it be better to have just one widescreen monitor?
