Hi Guys,

I was looking or some information on the VTX3D 7970. Namely, does it use a custom or reference PCB? I haven't been able to find out through google. Also, would you guys buy brand like VTX3D and Inno3d and Gainward which are lesser known brands?

Thanks

I believe it does, I'm not 100 percent sure so don't hold me to that though.

And you'll find that alot of the smaller companies are actually OEM's for largers ones in some cases, For example Powercolour OEM's for gigabyte from memory. So alot of them are actually very good at manufacturing cards but aren't as well known as your larger brands.

As long as it has good warranty you'll be fine :D

Awesome, thanks for that info. They don't seem to have a website and I couldn't find much info on it from google -.-

I had a look and powercolour isn't gigabytes oem so I edited the original post. Sorry about that

But point still remains that if it has good warranty then it will be fine.

Also Gainward in particular are outstanding cards. their 780 GLH edition is the pick of the current lineup of 780s

Awesome :) I've just been looking around and the VTX3D one is the cheapest right now. I just need to check if I'll be able to watercool it later

Have a look at EK's cooling configuration tool on their site, If the reference block will fit your card then any reference block will mate :D

They have tons of waterblocks for it. I'm going to guess that the sheer number of them means it's reference :P
