Help with SSHD

So i bought a seagate hybrid drive(SSHD) and I am wondering about how to install the OS onto the SSD portion of the drive. All help is apprciated

You can't.  The SSD is a cache and over time the firmware learns what you use the most and pre-loads them into the SSD portion.

The ssd caching is automatically handled. You would install the OS on it like any other drive.

Umm they don't work like that it's only an 8GB NAND flash section used for caching data to speed it up compared to a regular HDD.

Marginally yes they are better for load times usually for things like windows but require to learn or remember the stuff to cache a few times first.

In terms of responsiveness, they're noticeably better than traditional hdd's but don't make as much of a difference as a dedicated ssd. Sequential transfer speeds are pretty much the same as a regular hdd.

Ok so now im actually gonna buy a disk but should i get a SSHD or a HDD and what brand?

It would help to mention what the system is being used for, where you're shopping/located, and budget..

Brand doesn't really matter without pricing--most hdd brands all offer good products.

Personally I like to recommend and SSD and HDD combo but if that's a bit over the budget an SSHD is a comprise of the two, you could always get a HDD and later on add in an SSD for your OS as an upgrade.

Nope. Im just gonna find the best value hdd. But im asking the forums on their views of a good value hdd.

In SG it is 70sgd for a segate 1tb 7200rpm and 77 for a WD blue and 96 for a WD black

How much are the ssd's and sshd's?

98 for 750gb

$70 for the 1TB seagate hdd or $98 for a 750GB sshd both seem like good options depending on how much you'd like to spend.
