Hey there Justin,

As the guys explained, SSHD drives have the small SSD portion (usually 8GB or 16GB in capacity) only for caching. The drive uses its own algorithm to see which of the applications are used most often and stores their files on the SSD portion for faster loading times and better performance. Everything else works pretty much as if it works off a regular HDD.
If you can I'd get a small SSD for the OS and most demanding applications and a regular HDD for everything else. A good one would be WD Blue: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=KLDKKH
Do have in mind that gaming relies on the storage's performance only for the loading times and autosaves. FPS and Graphics are not affected at all.
