Leave the PSU plugged into the wall, but with the switch turned off, and touch it every couple minutes while working on the computer.

Stand on something.  A couple of magazines or something.

QUOTE ME IN A REPLY SO I CAN SEE THE NOTIFICATION!

When there is no danger of failure there is no pleasure in success.

If you must work on carpet if you have those plastic mats for office chairs those can help a lot, but in general when ever you get up or move around along the carpet touch off on the metal casing of a plugged in but off PSU. You can also attach the alligator clip to the metal casing to keep yourself grounded.

I was looking around and I found old wood like slabs from a old TV stand, So I been using as a diy desk what if I lay the parts on the larger slab and put one of the smaller one under my feet?

In general it's not a huge worry if you have an anti-static bracelet but if you want to be extra careful having a board to stand on while working isn't a bad idea while assembling on a wooden table or the motherboard box.

this. Best ground is to... well... ground. The earth connector on your power socket is best. If you have a anti static wrist strap, you can ground it to your case if your PSU is connected.
