AC Black Flag Framerate...

So, I've had this game for nearly two years now on PC. It's always been an issue but now I'm really starting to question it considering I get 60FPS in GTA 5 on Very High settings, Witcher 3 I can play on High settings at 60FPS, and Project Cars is playable at very high settings with 60FPS. For some reason though I can never get more than 30FPS in Black Flag unless I'm looking at the sky. Is there something with this game that prevents more than 30 during gameplay? Or is there just something I'm doing wrong. PC Specs are in the Signature if you need to know those.

Its a VERY demanding (and unoptimized game). You are going to need to tweak the settings heavily to get playable FPS, unless you have some serious GPU horsepower.

 What @Altecice said, also try disabling PhysX completely. In my experience the PhysX implementation in Black Flag is horrible and creates stuttering and low framerates.

Okay cool. I just use the Nvidia Geforce Experience optimized settings applied. Except i've lowered them a little through Geforce. The game is playable, I don't mind 30fps I was just confused as to why that certain game I only got 30 when I can play other games that are newer and have higher settings enabled and I get higher framerates.

Hopefully disabling PhysX will help you.

Also, Geforce Experience tends to regard settings as the way they SHOULD affect performance, and not always how they ACTUALLY affect performance. I'd recommend spending a bit more time tweaking the individual settings, as well as reading up on performance guides online.

I was able to run 60+ fps on ACIV, but... a big but... I'm pretty sure I had to disable all anti-aliasing completely. Small price to pay for high framerates.

Just for future reference for Unity you will need to do the same but DAMN its a great game once you get the FPS sorted.
