[Help] Buying New GPU !

Go to solution Solved by Lord_Karango17,

Not r9 ones but yes these are under my budget.

1. Asus R7 370 OC STRIX 2048MB - 256BIT

2.  Gigabyte R7 370 OC  2048MB - 256BIT

I believe the 950 is a slight bit faster than the r7 270, so you might as well go with that.

Hi guys i want to buy a new Graphics card, im looking to buy "MSI Geforce GTX 950 OC 2048MB Graphic Card. Its available here in my region for $210 and my bugdet is $220. I only play games like h1z1, CSGO, Dayz, Rust or sometimes COD:BO 2 and max resolution will be 1080p. Please suggest if this is a good choice or should i buy anyother card under $220. Thanks

My current system specs are:

CPU: Intel Quadcore Q9400 OC @ 3.4GHz Stable

RAM: 6GB DDR2 Ram

GPU: GTX 550ti

PSU: GreenStar 500W

Ryzen 5 3600 | MSI B450 Tomahawk Max | Corsair Vengeance lpx 32gb 3600mhz | EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING | XPG Core Reactor 850w

950 seems like a good card. What price is it locally for you?

Also if you can/ want to, check out the prices of r9 290s on used websites, because it may be around that price, and significantly faster than a 950.

PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case:  painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS)

Ahh I see, then you are probably best off with the 950. Out of curiosity, what other gpus are in that price range on the website you are using?

You can get a better deal on a used 290 if you're willing. Place an ad here with your budget. And what region are you in?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

these are the closest ones:

1. ASUS Geforce GTX 750 OC 2048MB GDDR5 Graphic Card ( $150 )

2. MSI Geforce GTX 750Ti Gaming Twin Frozr 2048MB GDDR5 Graphic Card ( $220 )

I would not suggest a 960, not a good performer for the money.

That sucks, I had an idea but you'd have to be here in the states. Look for a used 280x, the Vapor-X is one of the bests if you can find it, a Toxic would be the best but is going to be tough to find.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

It will be a noticeable jump in performance, going from the 750ti which is an entry gaming card, to the 960 which is a mid-high teir gpu.

At the end of the day it will depends on the games you play/ intend to play in the future. If its games like league of legends, or easy to run games, then just get the 750ti, but if it needs the power then the 960 will be very good.

Also is the r9 370/ r9 380 in your price range? (the r9 270x and 380x are pretty similar, but might be a bit cheaper)
