Hi guys, I know nothing about anything on my PC and was wondering if I could get any tips on what upgrade I should do. I currently get frame rate lag while playing simple games, such as cs go, league etc.

Here is a link on my computer components - https://gyazo.com/75ef582c037af4278a7a997c96cc7427

Unm.. You have GTX 295s and a 780Ti on the same rig? The most, you could do is sell all your GPUs and buy something like a R9 Fury or GTX 980Ti thought it seems like your rig is plenty. Possibly your CPU.

Okay. First of all, you shouldn't lag in CS:GO or League, or DotA or any other simple games. Your rig is still powerful enough to power Fallout 4.

Second: why do you have GTX 295 AND GTX 780Ti paired together?

Third: what are your temperatures under load? If temps on the screenshot are while your PC is idling, you certainly have problems with thermal throttling...

Yes, I also thought it was weird that I get fps lag while playing those games, I initially thought it was my motherboard that was bottlenecking my system, is that a possibility? and the temperatures on the picture is taken while I was in a game of cs go.

And is it bad to pair a GTX 295  with GTX 780Ti ?

Hi, obviously I do not want to go overboard and get stuff that i don't need but, I don't have any budget and willing to pay as much for a computer that could last for atleast 2 years and can handle most games. If that makes sense

Just remove the 295 and allow the 780 to do PhysX, it'll remove your fps dips.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

okay then, first, sell both of your gtx 295. Then get a better cpu and mobo, eg. i5 6500 and asus h110m. 780ti is a great card, maybe get a ssd, or get another 780 ti

Can we get a picture of your rig? ( Inside of it ) and as stated above. Remove the GTX 295s and keep, the 780 in there.

Oh, ok I thought pairing my old and new gpu would be a good thing , but from what I hear from everyone here is that it is better to leave the 780 alone?

Yes it is better to leave it alone.

You cannot SLI two different GPUs.

Pics please. CPU may possibly be holding back part of your system but cannot tell unless I see a picture of the rig.

Yeah. Generally speaking, pairing a GPU from 7 generations ago with a GPU from a previous generation isn't the best idea ever. Also, SLI won't work anyway  ;)

Also, your motherboard won't be bottlenecking anything, if it works. :)

it can that you have connected your monitor to an gtx 295 and then you will get sucky fps , connect your monitor to your 780ti and just take out the gtx 295 because they dont do anything at all execpt causing problems

peripherals ( steelseries apex / sharkoon fireglider black / razer goliathus / lg25ub55 )

Oh boy how big are those ram sticks? ( GBs ) I think your CPU is holding back how much ram you can fully utilize.

They are 24 GBs

No no like each RAM stick individually. Or can you hit start and go to System Information and take a screenie

Ok :) With the 295s removed, how is FPS in games?
