Hi, i have been using my pre-built pc for about 3 months and there are some noticeable downfalls. its just a 500$ gaming rig that i got for my birthday. it was a good starter but christmas is coming and i want something more powerful. they old pc was using:

CPU- FX 4300 quad core

Gpu - msi gt 730

MOBO- a very shitty ms1 7x etc

Ram- un branded 8gb ddr3 sdram

1 tb- western digital blue (after market)

350 watt unbranded psu

the new build i want to do may be a little overkill but is ascetically pleasing.

cpu - fx 8350

gpu - evga gtx 960

mobo - msi 970 gaming

Ram - Kingston hyperX savage 2400mhz 2x4gb kit

case - cooler master master case pro 5

cpu cooler - cooler master 212 evo

psu - evga 500w 80+

hdd- 1 tb western digital blue (same one just moved to new computer)

Thanks let me know any changes that i could make to make this a better build for the same price point or same power for the lower cost thanks.

-snip-

Dont get an AMD CPU they are not nearly as powerful as an Intel i5 when it comes to gaming.

Skip the cooler

and get a EVGA 500w 80+ Bronze would be my recommendation as the lowest tier psu.

For GPU i would get the R9 380, its just more powerful if you can afford it. Preferably buy one from Sapphire, MSI or Powercolor, they have the most effective coolers.

What's your budget? If you're mostly gaming you really don't need a new CPU

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
