so my old psu decided to fail me so i bought a new one and i am not sure if this is advisable or safe but i removed the old one and just put in the new one with no fresh installs or anything

is this possible can i do it will it leave any errors?

so after it started up ok so i did a slight overclock by about a gigahert and whenever i started up it just gave me bsods is this to blame on the PSU?

do you add more volts to the OC?

you did a 1ghz overclock.. probably going to need to add vcore for stability... this is not a suprise. what cpu and cpu cooler?

Probably your overclock is not stable. Test with Aida64. If it fails in the first 30min, then your system is not stable and you should compensate by adding more volts. Giving us your system specs will be helpful.

ok i have a q6600

4 gigs of ddr2 800 

evga 500w psu

p5k-ws motherboard

 

my oc settings were:

FSB 300

vcore 1.25

dram frequency 801mhz

dram voltage 1.9v
