SteamOS gaming performs significantly worse than Windows

I'm using a Xonar card with Linux right now. The Xonar drivers are in the kernel, you just gotta change the speaker/headphone settings.

Also the Nvidia drivers are easy as fuck to install, unless you are using a obscure distro that doesn't grab dependencies. 

If you need help with something message me and I'll walk you through it, or better yet use Google

(On a side note the way to make the Xonar card function is to get Qasmixer change the hardware device and change the output settings to something generic likes headphones or speakers. Instead of [insert Name] FP.) The Realtek ALC892 is the cause most likely. 

jsut grab the Nvidia driver fro the additional drivers section in the settings.

Make sure to (Before doing so) -  

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade, then sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.
