Hi,3 months ago i bought the 970 SC from evga, had to return it because of Massive coil whine,i can't stress how loud it was.I got a refun from Amazon and decided to go for the G1 gaming.

Everything seemed good, relatively silent card with low temps and pretty, althought it has some coil whine, but its not so bad.the problem is that all the three fans are doing a rattle noise,it seems like the bearings went bad.

I am going to return it and i want to buy a new one, these are my options:

-Msi 970 gaming: 360 euros from Amazon

-Msi 390 gaming: 381 euros at a local store in my home town

-Sapphire 390 nitro: 359 euros from an etailer(Spanish Newegg)

My main concern is noise,i have seen Jay's video about the Nitro, and temps and noise looked really nice. Also i have heard that the msi versions of the new amd cards are really good, and they also come with a backplate

My psu is this one;http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/b-series/b600ver2/ .I know its not the greatest,i will change it soon, but in the meantime, will it handle the 390? The difference between my 970 at 1400mhz and a stock 390 is like 50-70 w

imo: sapphire 390. And depending on your cpu, that PSU should be ok

If were you I would buy an AMD R9 390. If you're planning to buy the R9 390 then you should choose the Sapphire or MSI model of the card because they're good cooling cards and quiter. Your PSU can handle the GPU but as you already mentioned you should changed it for a better one.

i3 4160 it is,inb4 bottleneck

It's unusual you match up an i3 with a 390, but I don't think it'll bottleneck (please correct me if, I'm not sure of this)

I am not getting the same fps as if i had an i5-i7,but is serving me well

Ofc you won't, but it's way cheaper and still a good CPU for budget gaming PC's!

It wil work just fine. There might be some bottlenecking but not much. If you're planning to buy an i5/i7 the performance will be better. What you also could do is buying an AMD R9 290X because they are getting cheaper and have a good performance for the price. Then again the question is: Are you willing to get a card that is 2 years old?

I would get the 970 over the 290x,what i like about the 390 is the 8gb of ram

The 390 draws more power and generates more heat, but you already have a high capacity PSU.

The 290X is still a fine option, since it gives similar performance to a 970 or 390 but is about $50-$100 less.

From what I've read on the topic - a Sapphire 390 Nitro is exactly what you're looking for :)

Do you think that its more silent than the msi? And what about vrm cooling?

3 fans = lower RPM = lower noise. Sapphire cooler was designed specifically for the 390 - it's not a Nvidia rehash - VRMs are nice and cool :)

Will the sapphire 390 use more power since it has two 8 pin connectors?

I have the Nitro 390 OC and even with an additional overclock to 1100MHz it's pulling around 350w when loaded. The hottest I've seen it is in the low 70s. Fantastic GPU. I have it in crossfire with a 290 and they both run off a 750w power supply.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

What about noise? I have enough money to buy the 390 nitro and the xfx ts 750w gold psu,or should i take the 650w one? the price difference is 7 euros

The Nitro 390 is almost silent, in crossfire I hear the fan on the power supply kick in but haven't heard ether Sapphire. A 550w is fine for one 390, for crossfire you should really have a 850w. I haven't had an issue but that doesn't mean I couldn't.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Nah - the extra 8-pin means you can OC further which can cause higher power draw

It will bottleneck in some games, but it shouldn't be terrible.
