Just use spacers between the wood and your standoffs, or simply  get larger standoffs (which is what I would do), this way the motherboard isn't that close to the wood. You won't have to worry about any conductivity or static.

As you can see, they come on different sizes (bronze standoff) Try getting some that are a bit longer than the ones you can found on cases.

 

 

To secure them to the wood, you could use 'wood nut inserts', they come in different sizes as well, pick one that has the correct threading.

Hi folks,

 

Since I'm trying to build something new and unusual, I came up with a pretty nice idea.

I want to build a test bench of complete wood, no pictures yet, just a idea.

I did some research and read about static and conductive wood.

 

Is the wood still static or conductive when I use the official motherboard stand-offs to mount them?

If yes, what kind of wood isn't conductive or static or what can I do to make them non-static or non-conductive?

 

PS. I'm not asking for rude comments or comments about airflow or w.e.

Making a case with wood or test bench with wood isn't a problem as long as you have motherboard standoffs, to mount them you can get threaded inserts to screw into the wood then mount the standoffs on.

Idk what u trying to say but I make simple (not being rude)

 

Wood cant have electricity go through it.

Oh okay, can you explain me then why people with wooden builds are using a metal or alluminum plate under their motherboard?

Basically just convenience for placing the mounting points for the motherboard and IO brackets usually, the motherboard and components are all grounded by the 24 pin connector.
