So i just saw some benchmarks and today for team red and Fallout 4 there are some problems.  In some of the recent benchmarks for Fallout 4 the r9 390 has been shown at 1080p getting 40fps-50fps, then jumping up to 60fps more often than most would like.  And after 1080p, it only gets worst going down to around 35fps and 40fps.  In a test, it was paired up against a 970 which outperformed by a good amount.  On 1080p, the 970 was getting solid 60fps but still had the odd drop or so, however, i dont think it dropped below 50fps.  In 1440p, the 970 was dropping to about 45fps-55fps, which is a suprising difference.  If you got a nvidia card, i would say you should be fine.  (no need for a war in the topic).

For all the fps people or just anyone who has a AMD card, how do you feel about this or do you have any thoughts?  Also, if you got an AMD card and have played Fallout 4, are you having these frame issues?

Keep in mind the game is new.  Personally, i am getting a Nvidia card either way so this question wont apply to me, but i can see how some may not be a calm.

I am currently on xbox so i cannot post the link, however i can name the main benchmark video, which is called:  Fallout 4 PC 1080p60 Ultra: GTX 970 vs R9 370 Frame-Rate Test .

Please know i am not trying to advertise this channel, i am simply posting the name of it, if this is still not aloud, please let me know.

most likely AMD will release a newer driver to fix performance issues

Out of major cities you're fine. Even when surrounded by mole rates my fps don't drop. The problem is a lack of a supporting driver for AMD customers, and AMD has had months to prepare so I don't see how we can expect anything soon. So I have to ether avoid the cities, or not play the game because I chose the wrong graphics card. Won't make that mistake again.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Hey app, as much as a Fallout fan you are i think you will find a loop hole (or at least until AMD fixes this).

It's funny that i have Fallout 4 on Ultra at 1050P. Using my PC that has a 270X and a 8320, only dips to 30FPS and averaging around 40-45FPS.

This is interesting (no sarcasm intended).

I paid 650us for a loophole that doesn't work because the drivers not out yet  . Not sure why I laughed.

I definitely think its a driver issue. makes me happy that i didnt go amd anyway. fallout not performing well is a deal breaker for me

Same here, but to be honest, i prefered Nvidia anyway.  However, i am glad i at least recommended a Nvidia card on people Fallout 4 builds or budget but playing modern games builds.

Nvidia has been able to prepare since the game started development amd still has to do its thing

We've known about Fallout 4 since August, there's no way they haven't had time to give us something. They're completely quiet about the issue, not even an apology of acknowledgement.

There are a handful of haters with screenshots of bad reviews and such, i just hope the game does not get a bad rep over this issue.

I agree, at least a heads up like "hey, we are working on it" would be nice.  Again, ive always been Nvidia but i can see the dissapointment.

yeah I am a fan of gameworks, and the constant driver updates and i have a shield tablet so i love that feature. I really wish amd would come out with their own version of that because i recommend AMD all the time to my friends and a lot of them want that particular feature.

Crimson is supposed to address the issue, but my excitement has waned with this experience. Some of my frustration is with them releasing a driver update when Fallout launched, which spurred false hopes. It's unforgivable to not let your customers know why their GPU is losing to less powerful counterparts from the competition, or why you haven't supported one of the largest game launches of the year.

its an nvidia title. This means nvidia had engineers at Bethesda working on the game giving them the edge and basically preventing amd from being able to work with Bethesda. That being said amd needs to get off its ass and work with devs.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Gameworks is a big one for me too, and driver updates are nice (did not know they are constant).  See, dont get me wrong, amd is fine, but to me, i always go Nvidia, its only if its really for the best, is when i advise amd, other than that, Nvidia.  After this i hope amd fans are not too fast to judge Nvidia (not saying this changes everything but i am saying maybe they pause and consider it, this does not mean every amd fan but just the ones that dont consider Nvidia).

theres a geforce driver basically per month these days. some of them are worse than others but theres enough where you can just pick and choose the most stable ones for you.

Nvidia can't stop AMD from working with the game, especial;ly since consoles run AMD components. But with the performance on console being what it is, there may be some truth to what you say. And AMD is about to get a 12" GPU put in a very uncomfortable place.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Don't forget that every game as well starts out on AMD GPUS. PS4 and Xbone... So no excuse. A 970 beating the 390... This is why I went green, simply because of the driver updates.
