screen sizing?

ok, i have intel hd 4400 and i cant run anything at 1080p, my monitor is 1080p (thankfully it is a laptop) and when i have it plugged in it automatically goes to 1080p, if i run a game at a lower res then that it gets a black border, and i have to run games at 800x600 so i get a huge border. the only 2 games that acculy size it up to fit the screen is modern warefare 2 and world at war. when i do this on the built in display all of my games fit the screen? please help i just want them to fit the screen!

 

also When i put my res down to 800x600 my monitor (its acculy a tv if that helps) just puts it back up if i go fullscreen.

 

please please please help!

tried that, when i go into full screen the tv turns from 800x600 (thats what it says its outputting) to 1080 then back when i exit full screen
