You don't have to, was just a suggestion as it installs drivers that windows update misses.

installing all kinds of stuff that fiddels with my registry and whatnot is what got me into shit like this in the past way to often so thanks for the suggestion and im happy for you if it works for you but im gonna stay away from that stuff as far as i can.

well what i did was take the 2 ram sticks (mentionend in sig) i had and the 2 ram stick i bought used sunday night and the 2 ram stick a friend gave me because they apperently are also broken and tested every one of those 6 seperatly at work in a different system with memtest86+. the result is that one of my ripjaws is done with life and the ones fine. so is the rest of the stick so now im running 4 gig gskill and 4 gig kingston. not pretty but so far i had no crashes yesterday.

so take the $20 and donate it to linus' site in my name. thanks......1st post.......... ripjaws. friggin blows. hit the nail on the head.

ok yesterday this thing DIDN'T CRASH but hang there for a couple of seconds. i dont really know how to describe it but someone may know what i mean. no reaction and sound plays last noise in loop (very anoying). usually this happened right before it crashed but now it didnt. when it decided to work again i got the message that the graphics driver has crashed and was reloaded. before you ask i just reinstalled windows so loading new driver is the first thing i did.

In that case your PSU has to be suspected unless you have done an Overclock. Usually when PSU is suspected replace it quick and see otherwise it may take oh her components with it. Like in my case a failing PSU took my RAM and Mobo with it and started causing all sorts of issues. Just try and see. Otherwise next option would be to replace Mobo but that is to be considered a last step

Usually testing PSU easily only when it's to know whether it just works or not. In ur case it's different. Try putting heavy load on the system and see, search the web for system stress test like Aida64 and run both GPU and CPU tests to max out power usage and see how long it lasts. But simply getting a replacement from a nearby shop is easier though.

ok i do actually have a second old one lying around ill test and see if it still happens. if not i pray i got that bill somewhere. because it has not been 5 years so warranty would be an option

No need of a bill. They will ask just the serial number on the PSU. Also make sure the spare one has enough watts or else things might get worse

ok guys its official no more blue screens! wuhuuu! but before i declare this done i do still get those freeze with dem annoying sound loops. so basically ever so often my system freezes for a good second and during that time nothing responds and i get the sound that was playing when it froze in a loop but then it will unfreeze and work like nothing happened. even skype doesnt loose connection or anything and game sessions dont seem to be impacted either. very weird.
