Hi

Recently my EVGA GTX 770 SC gpu seems to be running hotter than usual.

Using msi afterburner i have noticed that at idle, my gpu starts at about 38 degrees celcius and increased into the high forties, the gpu fan is running at 48% speed.

My room temp is approx 20 degrees.

Anyone know if this is normal?

Thanks

(I regularly clean my computer so dust should not be the problem)

You could try to change the thermal paste on the cooler

I've had a similar issue on my 770. The way to fix this is to turn off your PC. Then flip the switch on your PSU, wait 10 seconds or so. Then remove your graphics card from your PC. Unscrew all screws on it, remove the heatsink, clean off the old thermal paste and apply some nice fresh CM IC 2 or the equivalent. Make sure the size of the thermal compound is around the size of a pea. Then do the reverse off what i said so that your graphics card is back in your PC.
