Hi !

so i just build a pc for a friend but when i put his old Seagate barracude 2tb in his new pc there was nothing. the pc started up fine on the ssd which has the os on it but the HDD wasn't reconized the weird thing is it was working, since i feld the thing vibrating and the heads moving.

I tried using a different sata cable (2x), different sata port on mobo (2x) and a different psu cable from different port 1x.

also it doesn't show up in disk manager as unassigned so what the hell is going on? am i missing something?

This is his build .

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

You probably need to allocate it a partition(s) in disk management. (Use GPT)

EDIT: Read the post, didn't see the last bit xD

Does the drive show up in the BIOS?

EDIT2: You say it doesn't show as unassigned, does that mean it shows up, but has allocated space?

Go into Windows Disk Management.

Format the drive.

Give it a letter.

Boom.

Edit: I should probably read the entire post before replying.

If it's not showing in the BIOS, it's likely a hardware issue. Try unplugging the SSD and just having the HDD in to boot to the BIOS.

Do you have any other hard drives you could try plugging into the PC, or another PC to plug the drive into?

If you can't see it in the bios, it's likely the HDD is dead.
Boot up a linux that's able to recover data, it that don't see the HDD then I'm afraid nothing can be done.
