Drive cloning?

I was considering buying a Solid state drive and transferring all of my hard disk drive over to the new SSD, after looking at a few tutorials which say to only transfer the Windows partition only without the other partitions and they all require a recovery CD, since space is not a constraint (only used 60Gb) could I clone the ENTIRE drive without the need of a recovery Disk???
