The Pentium G3258 is not a great chip for everyday use and AAA titles. We all know this. The mere dual-core CPU just isn't really the best chip on the market today, even though it is pretty cheap.

However, whenever the G3258 is brought up (with regards to gaming), it always seems to be paired with cards like an R9 380/390 and GTX 970, which is stupid. So, does anyone have experience of using the G3258 with more budget minded cards like the GTX 750 Ti, R7 360/370, or even a GTX 960?

No point pairing a budget chip with an expensive graphics card, may as well pair it with a budget GPU as well.

When paired with a lower-mid tier GPU it handles itself decently (so it's fine if you plan on upgrading)...but an 860k is almost always the better choice in those scenarios.

It's a good enough pairing with a GTX 970 provided the user is playing games that are heavily single-threaded. Pairing with a 750ti would have the same effect in those games, bar lower frame rates than the 970, ofc.

Pairing it with a 970 is only a bottleneck when the game/program doesn't like dual-core CPUs.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
