Lately, when trying to play GTA V, a few minutes after entering the game, the game will crash, and Windows will give an error that says "...System is critically low on memory"

It started doing this only a few weeks ago, and when checking Task Manager, only around 14% of my RAM is being used on the desktop.

I have 8GB of RAM, GTA has always been ok on it. Does GTA really use that much memory?

Well if it was working before there are only 2 problems I can thing of off the top of my head. One of the possibilieties is that you have a failing RAM module, you can eliminate this possibility by running the 'windows Memory Diagnostics' tool, just search it in the start menu and run it (I would run it over night as it could take a while). The next possibility is that you are running an application that is memory intensive and limiting the amount of memory that GTA V is assigned. Although from your observation 14% mem usage shouldn't be a problem. Do you remember downloading anything around the same time that this problem began to occur?

Run memtest86+ for a minimum of 24hrs to verify if it really is the RAM that is causing the problems. If it is, RMA the RAM since most RAM have lifetime warranties. But maybe it's just GTA V? I've heard it has its problems, so maybe it recently updated and that caused new issues for you.
