Second hand Seasonic?

Go to solution Solved by ThinkWithPortals,

Never buy PSUs used. You're never really sure of what's been done to them, which isn't great when it basically holds the lives of each of your parts in it's hands.

That said, it is a Seasonic, and I trust them to the end of the earth.

This is the psu - Seasonic X750

It was powering a R9 290X and a Xeon. Used for about one year and still have four years warranty but to some firm ...

I am building a new rig and 750W are a bit overkill but still ... the price is good - about 106$(156$ brand new here). The same money i was about to give for a new CM v650s ... or EVGA Supernova 550W G2.

What do you think guys? Is it wise to buy second hand PSU?

go with the g2.. new is always preferable to used and if you can get the g2 for the same price as the used seasonic then ... yeah get the new one

That PSU is a really good one, but I wouldn't risk getting a used PSU personally.

Usually i will never consider buying a second hand PSU or GPU ... But because it's such a good unit i got tempted :D

Well ... i suppose i will play safe with the brand new unit.

Thanks for making my mind guys :D

Edit: But CM VS or EVGA G2 has better protections? In my region there are power fluctuations from time to time ...

Update: I actually decided to get the best available ... Seasonic SS-660XP2 ... and not taking any chances. It's a bit expensive, especially that i use a skylake i5, non K processor and r9 380 video, but could't help the feeling of getting the best "food" for my components ...
