So after all the confusions, numerous conclusions, opinions, facts, doubts (the list will go on as you already guessed!); it's official now!! All of the products for my new build HAS BEEN pre-booked (crisis on stock in my local market). With hours and hours of research and some last moment pick; I finally made it!! If I don't die or an apocalypse don't come in two weeks(( :P)), the parts following will find their new home...

1. INTEL Core i7 6700K

2. MSI Z170A Gaming M5 (I'm getting a free MSI mouse too!!)

3. CORSAIR H100i

4. GSKILL Trident Z DDR4 3200 MHz (8X2)

5. TRANSCEND Sata III 256GB SSD

6. SAPPHIRE Nitro R9 390 8G

7. THERMALTAKE Toughpower Grand 650W 80+ Gold

8. NZXT H440 Red/Black

I will be primarily using this for extreme gaming and mild to modest rendering. And have no plans on future upgrades for at least 2 years.

How's the build people? I knocked at your door for so long now!! Another (and hopefully the last!) time, I'm asking the big favor!!

*****some questions to ask*****

1. will this be enough for my requirements for at least 2/3 years, keeping in mind dx12 is on the way?

2. how much overclocking juice I can pump out of it?

3. is there any suggestion? any change(s) you would do if it's your's?

BIG, BIG THANKS to you guys for tolerating this irritating monkey!!!  ;)

1. it'll do for 5-7 Years
2. not much since the PSU is 650W, but if you just OC the CPU / GPU, you can
3. get EVGA G2 or GS / XFX Pro Gold or XXX (why)

Why did you go for the 6700k if 5820k is better? It wasn't in stock or something? (you said there are troubles with availability at your location) You wouldn't pay anything more since you already bought an expensive motherboard along with the 6700k

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

5-7? well that was unexpected really!!  :D

EVGA and XFX aren't available in my market. Corsair, Seasonic, Thermaltake are. Can you suggest any among them??

yeah I could do that... and it came to my mind too. but there's no "affordable" mobo in my location for an X99 platform. and I won't mind i7 6700K, since it has more single core strength than a 5820K (source: linustechtips youtube channel)

In the video out of 4 games tested the 6700k was better in only 1 despite its single core performance ;-; You can overclock the 5820k to around 4,4/4,5ghz without any issues on that cooler, it would be a better choice, I can't believe there's no X99 mobo for the price of the MSI gaming one you picked, it's pretty expensive as far as I know ;-;

I'd consider getting a bit better GPU like the 290X/390X if I were you, considering as you said it's going to serve "Extreme gaming" :)

better psu, pretty much anything by seasonic and your good, not sure about that ssd, i would get either a samsung or a crucial as they are known to be solid choices, a good air cooler will do almost as well as the h100 be quieter and only 1 point of failure, unless you want it for aesthetics, and finally if youre gonna mainly be gaming why not get an i5

what is your total budget and location... may be able to squeeze out a 390x or a 980

CPU: i5 6600k @ 4.6 ghz  Motherboard: Asus z170-a  Cooling: Corsair h80i GT GPU: EVGA GTX 970  Ram: G.Skill 2x8 gb ddr4 2400  PSU: EVGA G2 Supernova 550w  Case: Corsair 200r Storage: 250GB 850 EVO + 2x wd 1 tb drives

yeah I know... but what can I do? the "cheapest" X99 is a whooping 160 bucks more here than M5!!!  :(

better GPU? yeah I could do that, but I'm already outta budget so that's that!! but who knows? I might replace it with a fury in about 6 months!! let's see!!

well I thought about an i5 too!! but hey, you missed the rendering part I guess!!  :P

390X isn't a tangible upgrade to me right now... and 980? nope, just nope. dx12 is nightmare so far for nvidia. unless they fix it, I won't even consider buying anything branded nvidia, not at the moment.

and I live in Bangladesh... my budget is 1200 USD (more or less, weird exchange rate). yes I could get a lot better in this price point, but that's the best I can do in my country. things are pretty expensive here.  :(

no i didnt miss it but if youre gonna go mostly for gaming i would think you would want the thing that would benefit gaming more and take the slight hit in the rendering

I am happy with my gpu atm, and not planning to upgrade now. thus the extra cash goes to the i7 bro... and yes I'm a "little" fanboy of i7 tbh! (please don't judge me!)

future upgrade is an option after a year or two. I'll bump up my gpu power by then I guess. just making sure the cpu power is adequate now!!
