How do i fix a Memory leak?

Go to solution Solved by AresKrieger,

yes, ufcorse, also im gonna get an SSD for games only.

Btw do i also have to format the HDD? because that would suck, 150GB of games (gta 5 :P + other)

no, you shouldn't

i have a memory leak, currently at 2GB usage on desktop, no program is using that much

if i start downloading stuff it increases, yesterday when i updated warthunder, even when it finished my ram usage was about 95% , i had to restart my PC, i was having freezes and stutters in idle (even mouse was laggy)

i have windows 8.1 PRO , latest updates

i updated drivers

also might it be related  because i only have about 4.5GB on my SSD left??

paging file size is set to auto

i did the "rededit" and "start" thing that i found on youtube and it seems it doesnt work

To put it simply, you don't.

Yes, paging file can contribute to high memory usage.

This^, after the launch of post windows 10 updates, windows 8.1 started to experience memory leaks for some users, as some users of windows 10 had, there is no fix

It is a system feature that is suppose to use excess ram to act as a cache, but it doesn't use only the extra stuff, and will not allow other programs to use the ram it claims afterword, aka it is bugged for some people like you unfortunately

It's still a problem in 10 as well, I'd just remove recent non security updates from your os

You can uninstall updates from windows 7 and 8, and seeing this is a fairly recent problem, it is likely caused by one of the updates, or a combination of updates, the types of updates that could cause this are generally labeled as update for microsoft windows, aka non security ones, this is of course assuming the issue is a new one for you, look in the update history or list of installed updates and see if any happened around the same time as the issues start.

Well if you upgrade to windows 10 do a fresh install, or it will likely continue.
