well since you don't have a budget, you should go with these http://en-us.sennheiser.com/dynamic-headphones-high-end-around-ear-hd-800

But if you want something more sensible here's a few suggestions

$100 - SRH440 from shure. I've actually used these, and they are very comfortable. The are a bit heavy but that's because of the aluminum construction. They also sound GREAT. Also, shure has THE BEST customer service.

$240 - ATH-M50x from audio-technica. On sale right now for $170. I've never used these, but I have heard PHENOMIMAL things about these. Excellent sound quality, excellent build quality, and nice presentation.

Oh my goodness, another M50X recommendation...

This is my main headset and I love it. It has a really long curly cord so you can walk around too. The biggest complaint I have is that they fall off easily if I tilt my head backwards.

Marques is love, Marques is life.

Maybe for things other than audio, but the sheer number of inaccuracies and the clear lack of research make me strongly dislike him.

What does "niche presentation" even mean? I'd call the M50X pretty mainstream, and pretty much worst than beats.

Sorry just a typo. I meant to say nice.

And the ATH-m50x is NOT mainstream. go up to 100 random ppl and as them if they know of the ATH-M50x i doubt any of them will know what language you speak. And among audiophiles, yes they are somewhat mainstream, but that is for good reason. Good frequency responce and excellent build quality are what made it so popular. And isn't i just a bit of a stretch to say that they are WORSE THAN BEATS?

Just saying that just because something is mainstream it doesn't automatically suck. They are usually sought after for a reason.

Mainstream =/= sucks. But the M50X does lie very, very close to being a bad headphone for the dollar with its saving grace being its popularity. The HD600 is rather mainstream, but the only thing bad I hear about it is the lack of soundstage.

They are worse than Beats' 2nd generation in terms of sheer performance per dollar.

The M50X is getting close to mainstream in the public eye. But narrow it down to guys who want good audio, the M50X is VERY mainstream.

tbh I've never seen the mkbhd review

Check it out now if you want.

The M50X is sought after for the same reason that beats are sought after, because some famous person told them to buy them. They are terrible headphones for the money, and they are worse than heats because beats are what they are, and make no apologies about it. The M50X, however, pretends to be a professional monitoring headphone, and it's not, no way, no how. That's why the M50X is worse than beats. (oh, also, I'm talking about the second gen beats, the first gen were just total garbage, the new ones, however, are a somewhat different story.)
