That'd be fine. Although, the setups you see posted (x16/x16, x16/x8) appear to be for multi GPU configs, not for single card.

Hello,

the card I'm looking at says it requires a x16 slot running in x16/x16 or x16/x8.  If I get a board with a single x16, will that be good?  Or if I get a board with 4 slots that says it runs in x16//x16/x8/x8 will that work?

So I'm overcomplicating things and a single x16 slot will work if I only have one card?

Just to explain things better, says if you had 3 cards, depending on other things requiring PCIe lanes, they could run in x16/x16/x8 or x16/x8/x8 or something along those lines (all x8...etc). With a single card though, it'll run at x16 bandwidth speeds providing that it's plugged into an x16 slot.

Yep, this build will be as is once I build it.  Won't be upgrading or changing unless something fails.  It's not going to be a normal build.

There is nothing abnormal about only having one pci 16 slot. Hope all goes well with your build :D
