Is there a list for games that are GFX card dependent and CPU dependent?

Because I've heard that improving your GFX card will not improve performance on certain games? If I'm wrong please correct me, thanks.

 

Games that are particularly CPU dependant are mostly few and far between, with games like Minecraft and Arma being the most prevelant 

 

most normal games rely on having a powerful GPU and at least a moderately powerful CPU
