How long will Windows 10 be free on win 7 and 8?

Please tell me how long I will be eligible to upgrade to Windows 10 from my Windows 7 computer?

 

Ive been told it is until July, 29 2016 but I dont know if I believe that person.

You’ll have a free, full version of Windows 10 -- not a trial or a lite version -- if you complete your upgrade before July 29, 2016.1

This, however, if you need to upgrade your motherboard after July 29, 2016, you will be stuck with your Windows 8 or Windows 7 license, as the upgrade license is tied to your motherboard.
