So I have a i5-4460, a R9 270X , and I am going to buy a new PSU.

I could get the Seasonic S12II 520W psu but the thing is that it doesn't support the haswell power saving modes (c6 and c7 or something like that)

does that make a big difference? should i go with a different psu instead?

"According to Intel's presentation at IDF, the new Haswell processors enter a sleep state called C7 that can drop processor power usage as low as 0.05A. Even if the sleeping CPU is the only load on the +12V rail, most power supplies can handle a load this low.Jun 4, 2013"

"Most".  There's a list of compatible PSUs out there, and if Seasonic themselves say they aren't compatible, then they aren't.  This only affects the extreme sleep modes C 6 and 7 though.

Basically it can't go into the super sleep states that Haswell allows for. It won't be a problem though. If you're really worried, you can disable them in your BIOS.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
