Omg the biggest headache ever. Especially when drunk

Don't do it when drunk lol. I had a buddy that built his $2500 build without me because he was drunk and ruined his $250 msi mpower motherboard by pulling a graphics card out of the pcie slot with the lock still in place. Ripped the whole plastic pcie slot right off the motherboard haha

I see 2 people in that photo.  Excellent.

Mount the 2 arms on the base plate.  Then put the nuts on in the right position and tighten them already.  Once that's done, have one person hold the cooler close to the CPU while the other one goes around the back of the case, puts the backplate on and screws everything together from the back.

The nuts don't reach all the way to the motherboard, so be careful not to overtighten it or you'll bend the motherboard.

Or if possible, put the cooler logo-down on the table (or on its foam to prevent scratching) and lay the motherboard on top of it.  I used that method on my own Dark Rock Pro 3 and my Shadow Rock 2 to mount them without any help.

It's easy. Don't know why it's so hard. Are you using 2011? If so take out all your ram and the 1 fan. Then screw the #10 into the posts add some thermal paste drop the cooler in evenly, put the nuts on em. done.

It also helps if the MoBo is out of the case ;)

If you're using intel/amd mainstream
