I was thinking for christmas to get a new desk and a third monitor and sell my old 768p side one and move the current one to the side.

For the monitor i play csgo alot so im not sure about response times.

I would like it 1080p and 24" and i want it to look the the really clear crisp display not dull, looking (i think its the ips displays that make it look like that?)

budget for it is £200MAX and from amazon uk or scan/overclockers please/

Thanks and sorry for my inactivity :P

depends on the panel mostly and if is LED or LCD also, but take into account what are u gonna be using this for?

if for csgo then lower latency is better, i know a lot of people love the hype of ips but tn is quick and more responsive for gaming for sure. maybe this monitor.

Monitor i have but without G-Sync and it's amazing - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/monitors/24inchmonitors/g2460pf.html (Costs £199)

we have the asus VE247H which is £144 with 2ms of response time  http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/monitors/24inchmonitors/ve247h.html

these are just two examples that i could find, for gaming you wanna look at response time and panel type mostly, response time means more frames, also look at the Hz if u can get more, means more FPS.

If you play CSGO a lot another consideration would be a 144Hz panel which would be 5-10 over budget such as the VG248QE or XL2411Z. If color accuracy is the absolute for what you want though, grab an IPS for sure. For fps games though if I had to choose between 144hz or IPS, I'll go with the TN 144Hz every time.

does the hz run better even if your pc isnt running it at 144, can you lock it on csgo?

You can use console command to set max fps if that is what you mean.

Absolutely, that's the whole point of going for a higher Hz monitor for FPS titles such as CSGO if those are your primary games.

can you use only a dvi cable for 144hz?

You will use the supplied dual link DVI cable that comes with the monitor or a Displayport cable, HDMI will not work.
