Server Desk Idea

This is an odd idea. Need some advice on it.

 

I am going to be building my own desk now.  I want to put in a storage server built into it as a slide out shelf. this way I can add/replace drives as needed. I will be using my old i7 2600 and motherboard/ram with it. 

 

This is still a very very basic idea.  The desk size will have a depth of about 2 feet., and a length of about 80 inches. Height of desk will be about 32 inches.

That sounds very doable if you have a shelf leg or something to mount the server onto, I would make sure to add a fair bit of fans for the cabinet space or ventilation though.

The Helmer is the same height as a two file cabinet, which are commonly used as pedestals for desks.
