Hi guys

Our house is a 3 stories house, i live on the 1rst floor along with the router and modem, while my brother is on the 3rd floor.

So thing is that, we just upgraded our internet connection to 50mbps and i have no idea how to give him access without loosing much speed

There is an outdoor cable that i've run from 1rst to 3rd floor to my brothers room for optimal connectivity, but, the thing is that because the plugs on my floor (3rd) are not optimally placed, i had to use powerlines from the router to that cable. So i have to use powerlines because i cant have an ethernet cable running through my living room and sadly i can not hide it...

On my desktop, plugged directly to the router, i reach 47mbps on speedtest.net, my brother though when he is using the powerlines is only reaching 16mbps, when i removed the powerlines and plugged the ethernet cable directly on the router he was reaching 47mbps too....

So i obviously have to replace my powerlines, but, i though that i should post here before purchasing a new pair of powerlines for a better alternative...what you say?

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

You can get super long ethernet cables and tons of cable ties for super cheap on Monoprice. Just run the cable along the corner where the wall meets the ceiling and run a cable to his room. That's what I did at my house - I'm using a 100' cable.

END OF LINE

Ideally it would be best to get some ethernet cable and run it in the home upstairs but if you are looking for an exterior grade type ethernet cable there are theses:

Ah ok, hmm well the only other option really is to punch a few holes to run some lines which would be the best thing for the future. As long as your home's wiring isn't very old then power line will work reasonably well.
