Hello, right how I'm a console gamer (Xbox 360) but after watching multiple videos on Youtube about why PC gaming is better I've decided to make the jump. I've made a build on PCPartPicker.com and I wanted someone else to critique it so here it is.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TheL337Newbie/saved/2aHg

Could I have done anything better? My budget is $950 I could go to $960. But I do want to stay in the high fifties or the low sixties.

Regarding SLI I will probably add another 760 later on because I've heard you can get Titan performance with two of them.

Regarding overclocking I do want to overclock, the CPU, the GPU, everything!

Thanks in advance for all the helpful tips and I hope to be a proud owner of a gaming PC soon!

P.S. When I get the second 760 I will fill up the case with fans, any recommendations? I'm looking for 120's and 140's

Wait for 9000 series, buy a Hyper 212 Evo and buy a Samsung 840 / 840 Evo. Also, you could get a lower end motherboard due to there being only a tiny amount of extra performance when compared to a lower end board.

It was useless advice because the 9000 series doesn't exist, has not been announced and has not been reviewed by anyone yet.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

this would be my recommendation http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1tLSH

Buy this one, best build possible. Just swap the 2x4GB for 1x8GB (for future upgradability).

Altho I would get this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1tMeT

1600Mhz CL9 RAM (better) with 1 stick so you can add much more RAM in the future, a motherboard that has 2x of PCI Express 3.0 x16 (also for future upgradability) and a bit better quality in my opinion, but it is slightly above budget :)

but when it is so close there was no harm in waiting that's my opinion I can see your point though :)

"so close" according to what? Fortune teller? Nobody from AMD announced 9000 series, so? when they announce it, FINE. But until then, 9000 series is just imaginary concept by theory crafters.

Console killers are more of a low budget gaming machine which outperform consoles, this is not low budget therefore not a console killer.

This will max everything at 1080P an if you want to add a second card later you will need a 750W PSU.

they have an event on the 25th of September so release will most likely be late September early October but I guess we'll only know for sure when it gets to that time, I personally just don't want to recommend something for a new gpu to come out straight after that is better, I guess I'd rather just play it safe like that :)

Why go for a much much worse CPU? It's useless for gaming and i would think this guy will do mostly gaming...

So what? It's cheap and will perform similar to 4670K in games as 99% of the games utilize the GPU waayyy more.

It's not cheap and no it's nowhere near close to 4670k. Are you gonna bet that everybody will only play GPU-dependant games? Maybe you do and you never touch:

MMO

FPS

RTS

and any games that make use of modding (scripts), like Skyrim... and and and.

FX series is hopeless and competes with older Phenom II from AMD more than with Intel.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?
