Hello guys, im having a problem with my new build, i bought a 2.5" intel 750 drive and i have just booted it up and went to install windows but it dosn't show up any clues why?

system x99deluxe / u3.1

8x4GB dom plat 3ghz

5960x

titan x times 3

corsair 1500 PSU

intel 1.2 2.5" ssd

2 x 1tb samsung evo's

OK EDIT UPDATE

after the bios update the drive is showing up and is getting windows installed on it as i type annnd its done hahahah wow its quick,

BUT i have one hopefully final question, when I first booted it up I put the two evo's in raid 0 only to find out that the 750 drive wasnt showing up and neither was the raid 0 drive of the evo's ( well at least as a boot drive) so i removed the raid and then went to install windows on one of the evo's and figure out what was happening to the 750 later, only catch was that when installing windows one evo was correct saying that it was 1TB but the other believed that it was 1.8TB (so still in raid with raid size ) but the raid was ment to be removed, and any later attempt on reformatting has failed

so again i ask for any help please and thank you

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

yes UEFI should be on by default

are you able to detect the drive in the BIOS?

but there are heaps more problems then just that

lots of q codes

when i first turned it it didnt post q code 6d and dram_led solid red, restarted and same shit, pressed memtest button, posted saying only 24GB of ram, i look at which 2 it said were not working in the bios and then turned it off pulled the four on that side out and swaped their postitions to see if it was the dimm's them self or the slots restarted and had to boot the same way only to be told that there was still 24GB of ram but it was 2 on the other side of what I touched that were not working now -_- restated again and this time it turned on fine all 32GB like what the hell is going on computer

now i go to look at boot order all good usb then ssd then ssd then wait where the hell is the 750 drive

turn off check all cables all good restart dram_led on again

restart dram led is off but different q code of 6f it now just stops and restarts

ffs im soo not happy atm

and to top it all of its all hard line water cooled so its not like i can just pull parts out to test seperatly

check the manual and see how to enable NVME drives on the mobo

you may need to update the BIOS

You could attempt to flash the BIOS from a USB drive if you have another pc

The first thing we should establish is whether the drive is NVMe or not? You never actually said it was.

Finally got windows installed, and computer turning on consistently, the epu switch was on (its a stupid overclocking switch) asus insist on putting on their boards that are just a heap of shit from my experience with them. turned that off and it boots every time now, i still havnt put the rest of the ram in,

Problems still ongoing, the raid i put on the two Samsung ssd's failed somehow and it would not let me use that as a boot drive and the 750 drive is still not showing up

When did you last update your UEFI?

Z97 & X99 can both suffer from issues with NVMe drives. Most are fixable with a UEFI update but I believe there's still a few boards which refuse to boot from NVMe drives.

A few vids I watched on YouTube suggest enabling the CSM might help the drive be bootable but I've not tried it.

So according to Asus Support you must be on UEFI 1601 or higher for NVMe support.

Just grab the latest (1901) and flash that.

ok, first of all your link is for the wrong mother board (sorry my fault) I have the newer x99 /u3.1 MB so i have to go here

https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/X99DELUXEU31/HelpDesk_Download/

secondly, I have already done this, and it is still not even showing up in the boot menu, or anywhere for that matter, it may as well be unpluged, and yes i have double checked that its getting power,

I am just at a loss as to what to do

if the 750 shows up in bios but not on windows install, intialize the driver in the windows installation maually and you'll be fine. Worked for me

and no bean its not showing up anywhere
