Automatic switching between 2.4 & 5 GHz networks

Maybe an app can help you a hand, but in android there isn't an option to automaticly config such thing.

And that 5Ghz range is less that's normal, the frequency is higher and it's harder for 5Ghz to get through walls. So range wise 2.4Ghz is better.

Hey guys!

Whenever I'm upstairs, my phone is connected to the 5 GHz SSID of my router (Linksys EA6900), and it works really well.

But if I walk downstairs, the signal is so poor, I can't even load reddit threads at all. When I switch to the 2.4 GHz SSID, it works fine.

Is there any way to get my phone to switch between te networks automatically?

Or is there something wrong with my 5 GHz network? (with downstairs, I mean 1 floor down, directly beneath the router)

Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Do you have 2 routers?

One router, but two SSIDs for the 2.4 and 5 GHz. channels.

Your device should automatically do this; at least my stuff does.

I've solved it!

After some looking around, I found this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kman.WifiManager

In the settings menu, there's an option to automatically switch to the strongest signal.

Thanks for the input guys!
