Hello,

I want to make a good sky lake build with 1440p resolution from 1.5 to 2k $ with screen (Need a good reason for 500 premium though :D).

I want sky lake due to fact that it's DDR4 compatibility which enables some "futur proofing". No Haswell-E is not in my budget :P.

Here is the Rig I was thinking of ( although I want to put in M.2, but the mother board seems to use 2 sata ports to use the M.2 port) : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GQLfWZ

Do you guys have any opinions to make this build better?

I think Winter sales should be coming soon, Does anyone know the right time to start bying parts?

Have a good day,

Nihle

Alright some things to take note of:

1- In gaming (especially at higher resolutions) the CPU is less of a bottleneck, so it's better to go for A I5 and a better GPU.

2- the 980 doesn't have great value to money, upgrade to 980ti or if you can't afford to a R9 fury.

I don't only do gaming, I will be coding (compiling "big" codes) => multitasking that's why I went for i7.

2- AH I did not know this. I have had issues with AMD GPUs, overclocked 2, they both died (it was not abusif overclocking too, very close to what I do to my nvidia GPUs). I will try to see if I can lower somethings to get this 980ti in there. Otherwise if you really think AMD got better, I will go for it.

Thanks for the advice, anyone else?
