Program ideas please!

So I do a youtube series about programming, in which I speed-code a designated project. 

These are usually simple things like word-reversing commands and the likes.

But here's the thing... I'm supposed to do one this Sunday, but I can't come up with an idea!

 

I plan on using C++, but can put openGL into the mix. 
 

 

 

I'm looking for ideas that could be done in less than 30 minutes; preferably about 15-20 minutes.


List of past projects: 

  • Tiles per room
  • Text Reverser
  • Dice Game (# of dice, N sided die, target score)
  • Vicegon maker (point and click polygon maker using openGL)
  • Prime Finder

 

Current ideas for future:

  • Nearest-Neighbor visualizer (openGL)
  • Magic 8-ball
  • File-file comparing
  • Random-walk heat map

 

Maybe...

  • Fractle design (Koch Snowflakes)
  • Snake

I have no idea if this can be done, or what time it would take.. but Ive always wanted a program running in the taskbar (?? the place by the clock in windows) that changes the resolution between two chose ones when u press it..

I know nothing about hacking, let alone how to make tools for it.

Sounds doable. Shouldn't be too hard, but not what I'm thinking for this type of a series. Maybe a fun side project though!

What about a fractal generator?

We did that in class and I wasn't able to complete it... I'll add it to a list of maybe's.

I have some code for an ascii art mandelbrot set generator that I wrote in C to run on a VM cluster, if you need some inspiration I can show you my code

Hm... That just gave me an idea... Simple program to clean temp files?

Hmm, not sure how hard this would be, but you could make a program that checks the MD5 hash between two+ files and see's if they're the same.

I'm mostly versed in C++, haven't done much in C, but it shouldn't be too hard to parse through it.

Files that are left on your computer, such as cookies, that aren't really needed.

If you'd like a pre-made one, get ATF-Cleaner. Little buggy, but it works.
