Should I go with the S340 over the storm trolley, if I do that will mean I have the budget for a 500GB SSD, 16GB's of ram, or s upgrade of the R9 390 to the 390X, or the I5 6600K to a I7 4770K

Thanks, is the reduced case functionality with it

It's over budget by £65, but you can cut down on a couple of things. For example, if you already have a copy of Windows, you can nick that. I also put a relatively cheap, but nice, 1440p IPS monitor. If you want a cheaper 1080p panel, you can cut the cost down by more than £150.

It should serve you well, though.

EDIT: Also, to answer your original question. Cases can be a hard compromise. On one hand, if you get a cheap one, you will probably find you don't have the features that you want and so will have to buy a new case. On the other hand, a feature rich but more expensive case is, well, more expensive.

If you plan on expanding your build, I would recommend getting a half decent case. The S340 seems to get good reviews, though. My criteria would be that it has to be able to fit a Noctua NH-D15.

I'm probably going to stick with this build:

Ignore this, messed up forum code. xD

That cooler is really meant for HTPC builds. I would swap it for something like the Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo, Raijintek Themis or Alpenfohn Matterhorn pure edition.

Is there any particular reason to go for Skylake? You'll see little/no improvement in gaming orientated applications.

Haswell still has a long life ahead of it.
