Are this GPU temps normal?

Hello everybody

 

I'm a little worried about my GPU temps, idle they are at 77C and 68C, Mainly what I do is working on Photoshop and Web development, I didn't had time these days to play intense graphic games, so I don't know what are my temps under load, I been playing Dota 2 without problems

 

this is my system:

 

Corsair 750D

SLI GTX 780 SC

BenQ XL2411

 

I want to know if this is normal, cause they spread a lot of heat, when I touch the DVI or HDMI cable connect to the graphic cards its really hot

Can you use MSI Afterburner or Precision for temperature readings? I've no idea how accurate Speedfan actually is. When you say that your GPU is idling, are you pushing it when doing Photoshop?

Yes, most GPUs are safe at 80c.

Take off the coolers and clean them out. Also put on new thermal paste.

for idle temps those are really high, as has been suggested take them out and clean them and reapply the tim

 

they will most likely thermal throttle or crash if you start doing anything demanding

Don't use speedfan, it's incredibly inaccurate. Use HWMonitor.

try using something like MSI afterburner or EVGA precision and see what kind of temps you're getting from those. speedfan isn't very good at delivering temps (though it's fine for its intended use - adjusting fan speeds). 

 

usually if you stay under 80-85 c you'll be good.

Yes I'm using Photoshop all day here's a screenshot with MSI Afterburner

Make sure the cards are set to "adaptive" at the power management settings in nVidia control panel. You can find this under 3D settings. I had a similiar experience with my 970, which idlet at around 62 degrees, and it turned out that I had set it to maximum performance.

Ouch. Then I guess trying to clean the headsink/fans should be the next step. Hopefully that'll help.

Looking at the power usage, it looks like this is during a high load(hardware acceleration). However, I would like to see temperatures while running Unigine Heaven or Valley.

Just be careful, and it should be fine. You can easily find loads of different guides for doing this on Google. Make sure you don't snap any wires (like the fan-wires), and that you're grounded at all times (an anti-static wrist strap is recommended). And, of course, that you have some new thermal paste that you can apply to the GPU.
